asymptomatic shedding?

Hi i was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with contracting/transmitting HSV (i dont know which one i have yet) oral to another person orally or genitally while NOT having an outbreak. I know that according to some stats the % ranges from 1 to 20% but i have heard of some people having cold sores for years and giving to their partner after 15 years of marriage. I have also read that most people get it when people dont know they are having an outbreak. I m just curious if anyone has had cold sores for many years and if so how is kissing dealt with? thanks for any info on the matter. Tweet
