We should all keep this in mind in our interactions with other people. That way, we could accept their persecution with joy knowing our reward is in heaven.

I know that I have grieved my Father for the better part of my life, but he loved me unconditionally anyway. I want to be like Him, therefore, I need to love and accept others regardless of how they treat me.

What better inspiration for loving/accepting others can there be?
