Can Oxypowder be used with "Spastic Bowel"?

My mom was diagnosed with Spastic Bowel..whatever that is. Something to do with diahreah. She can't take things like laxatives and even though Oxypowder isn't a laxative, she's wondering how it'll effect her. If she gets that painful/crampy diahreah thing she eneds up having to go back to the doctor to get something to stop it which sucks.
