ear problems

Can anyone on here advise me on what to use in my ear?? It is sensitive to the touch a bit achey and painful if i tug (but the sensitivity is coming from within not from the outside) I have wondered about having problems with my ears for a while as I get alot of vertigo and dizziness. I cannot afford to go to an ear doctor (called and whew are the prices high when you dont have insurance) I was wondering if there was something I could put in there that might help heal up an infection or something.
