I am having a dilemma at the moment!
I have been on a very strict anti-candida diet for a few months now and up until sunday(the weekend after my last liver flush)i felt better than ever!
In fact i felt so good i went to a barbecue and had a real good laugh which i have needed to do for a long time.
I stupidly had a slice of chocolate gateau and i enjoyed it so much i then had 2 more slices!
I was waiting for a nasty reaction either to the dairy,wheat or whatever additives they put in shop bought cakes but it never came.
I so wish it had but i think due to me having a good time and the great liver flush plus being clean(diet wise) for so long let me get away with it.
Anyway to cut a long story short the next few days i felt great and so indulged in WAAAY to many carbohydrates!
Not bad junk food carbs just too many grains,starchy veg etc. Oh and yes i also had quite a bit of fruit and maple syrup too.
The last two days my stomach has bloated out more and more and i look and feel awful.
I have all the tell tale signs of another flurry of candida and i am beating myself up over being such an idiot and not sticking to my diet.
It feels like ive just wasted all those weeks on a few days of over indulgence and now i need to start all over again :(
I really need some help with what foods to eat Andreas as my diet has changed a lot lately.
I am a pitta and all the foods you have listed in The key...are great for me except wheat/gluten grains due to reactions/candida.
Ok!so after reading your book a while back i stopped eating all animal and fish meats and became vegetarian.
This for me was an excellent move as at the time i was pretty toxic what with all the meat i had previously been eating(blood type O diet).
I have always loved vegetables and beans and enjoy making soups from them.
I need to sort out my candida/allergie issues but what with such limited grains and not eating meat/fish i cant see how i can live on vegetables alone.
Nuts seem to pass straight through me
Beans as you recommend should only be eaten 1-2 times a week
Grains, i can only tolerate a small serving of and have to rotate between a poor selection of basmati white,sprouted grain bread,quinoa and millet flakes but even the last two give me slight reactions.
I dont see how a serving of beans once or twice a week is enough protein and i am considering adding eggs back into my diet and becoming an ovo-vegetarian!
I know you dont advise animal produce but arent raw eggs(especially the whites) easy to digest and full of good proteins.
There is no way i will ever eat meat or fish again and that is final as i am disgusted by the way these animals are treated and raised for consumption.Plus they are all chewy and just yucky! i cant imagine putting that stuff anywhere near my mouth ever again.
I feel there isnt much to choose from except vegetables,nuts,beans and the occasional grain here and there.
Is that really enough to feed a body?
I also have weight issues and am now down to 9 stone 3 pounds where a year ago when i first became ill i weighed over 13 stones and was into bodybuilding,
Im terrified of loosing anymore weight but this whole anti candida way of eating is making sure that it keeps falling off me.
What can i do Andreas????????
