To make matters worse, each year the average American consumes 150 lbs of sugar
and 566 cans of soft drinks ("liquid candy"). Junk food consumption has grown drastically in the last few decades. Compared to 1981, in 2001 the average American consumed in one year: 45 large bags of potato chips - up 78%; 120 orders of French fries - up 130%; 190 candy bars - up 80%; 120 pastries or desserts - up 95%; 150 slices of pizza - up 143%.
Fast and junk foods contain dangerous additives, chemicals, and many are laced with excitotoxins such as aspartame. (Excitotoxins are substances added to foods and beverages that literally stimulate neurons to death, causing brain damage of varying degrees.) Looking at these astonishing figures, the fact that every second person in the U.S. is chronically ill should come as no surprise.
More than 125 million Americans – nearly half of the population – have at least one chronic condition and 60 million have more than one condition. Examples of chronic conditions are cancer, heart disease, diabetes and glaucoma. By 2020, the number of people living with chronic conditions is expected to rise to 157 million and direct medical costs are expected to double to more than $1 trillion (80 percent of the nation's health care spending).
Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, famous surgeon and the father of Kellogg's Corn Flakes, believed that the bowel could be the origin of most health problems, hence his creation of a bran cereal to aid in colon function. He maintained that 90% of disease is due to improper functioning of the colon. After performing over 20,000 colon surgeries, Dr. Kellogg said he never did see a normal healthy American colon. Common sense tells us that if we retain the contents of our colon the result will be disfigurement and disease of the colon. Since newly formed cancer cells escape destruction by the immune system due to the effects of autointoxication, we are literally poisoning ourselves into illness when the bowel evacuation is deficient.
According to Dr. Norman Walker, author of Colon Health, "The very best of diets can be no better than the very worst, if the sewage system of the colon is clogged with a collection of waste and corruption." And, ". . . constipation is derived from the Latin word "constipatus," which translated means "to press or crowd together, to pack, to cram." Dr. Walker also said, "There are two crimes against Nature that civilization indulges, 1) constipation, and 2) eating devitalized and refined foods."
The colon - also referred to as the large intestine is one of the four major main elimination systems of the body. In Chinese medicine the internal organs are paired. The large intestine is paired with the lungs, the stomach is paired with the heart for example, the kidneys are paired with the bladder, etc.
Your large intestine is made up of four main sections: the ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon & the sigmoid colon. The total length of your large intestine is approximately 6 feet and it ends at the anus where feces are eliminated from the body.
The small intestines length is approximately 26 ft. long. They are called large and small not because of their length but rather because of their width & diameter.
"The elimination of undigested food and other waste products is equally as important as the proper digestion and assimilation of food...the very best diets can be no better than the very worst if the sewage system of the colon is clogged with a collection of waste and corruption."
Is your colon a sewer or cesspool? Find out more below. Modern lifestyles put tremendous toxic strain on our vital organs and glands. The stomach is perpetually stuffed with denatured foods taken in incompatible combinations.
The liver is swollen and strained with the effort of breaking down massive intakes of animal protein and fat as well as drugs and poisons. The pancreas balloons to abnormal size owing to the constant demand for digestive enzymes to process enzymeless foods, and the colon gets lined with layer upon layer of glue-like crud that poisons the bloodstream.
Of all the vital organs in the body, the one that suffers the most abuse from modern dietary habits is the large intestine, otherwise known as the colon. Our colons were intended by nature to function as smoothly flowing sewer systems, in order to promptly flush digestive wastes from the body. Instead, they have become stagnant cesspools, the physiological equivalent to a festering pile of uncollected garbage or a broken toilet that continues to be used for defecation.
The average American & European colon today carries within it over 5 pounds of putrid, half digested red meat...plus ....another 5-10 pounds of foul toxic waste impacted for years in the folds of the colon with mucus.
Why does toxic waste from bad food taken in wrong combinations accumulate in the colon? When food that is not wholesome or is harmful to the body reaches the stomach, word is immediately sent from the stomach to the mucus manufacturer, warning, 'Get busy, the enemy is on the way!'
We know that mucus starts to be produced immediately and the colon is lined with it. 12-18 hours later, when the poisoned or harmful food from the stomach finally enters the colon, the latter is well prepared with a layer of mucus lining it, so that the body does not absorb any of the poison.
Were this to happen once or even several times a month, this mucus having been used, would disintegrate and slowly be discharged from the colon with no harm done. But it is now certainly apparent that nature never intended that protective mechanism to be used as continuously as it is today... the result is that layer on top of layer is secreted until its accumulation thickens to 3/8" to ¼" inch thick. Sometimes this layer or layers gets to 3/8" to ½" inch in thickness, becoming as hard and black as a piece of old hardened rubber you see on a highway, torn from a truck tire.
We have had a few specimens preserved in alcohol from several inches to a few feet in length, while the longest we have had was 27 feet, in one piece. Sometimes it will come out as a pile weighing as much as 11 pounds and continuing to come out for several days to a week.
Regardless of your financial standing, regardless of your past health history, regardless of your age or sex, YOU do have this hardened mucus in your colon, and you will be amazed by what comes out of you.
Even the US Health & Human Services, in a rare display of candor, admitted several years ago that 'over 90% of Americans are walking around with clogged colons'. One of the most famous and highly respected surgeons in American history, Dr. Harvey Kellogg of Battle Creek, Michigan, wrote: "Of the 22,000 operations I have personally performed, I have never found a single normal colon."
And that was back at the turn of the century, long before American eating habits had become completely corrupted by processed, denatured foods as today. "About the only place you see a normal healthy colon today is in an anatomy book!"
Which one is yours? You can know by looking at your morning bowel movements. Compare the normal healthy colon with the distorted tubing's at the bottom of the drawings, which are reproductions of actual X-rays of the colons of 'apparently' healthy people.
Note the tortuous twists and bends in the tubing, the enormous impacted mucus and trapped feces, the pinched and withered sections that have completely degenerated. Appalling? Then take note, for odds are 95% certain that you are looking at a reflection of your own colon. What goes in must come out - eventually. In the meantime it can fester inside for years and cripple or even kill you.
Toxemia is the real culprit in almost all diseases and degenerative conditions. It explains, for example, why under precisely the same conditions of exposure some people 'catch' colds and other contagious diseases, while others remain completely immune.
It is not the 'germs' that are at fault, as Louis Pasteur claimed, for germs of all sorts float constantly on the air and enter our food and water at all times. It is the lack of normal resistance due to autointoxication of the bloodstream that opens a 'window of vulnerability' in the body and permits germs to invade. Anyone who consistently breaks the laws of nature will ultimately be sentenced to chronic disease and early death by Mother Nature.
No type or quantity of drugs, surgery, or other remedial medical care can save you from the self-imposed death-sentence of autointoxication. The only way to win a reprieve is by 'good behavior', which means thoroughly reforming your bad habits and 'cleaning up your act', i.e., preventative health care.
However, it is an illusion to believe that you can clear out these obstructions and purge the imbedded toxins from your colon simply by eating bran, raw vegetable and other fibrous foods. Bran and raw vegetables are so rich in fibrous bulk that they cannot get through the tiny holes remaining for passage of feces in most colons. Instead they back up, fester and contribute further to the problem.
It's pointless to embark on a major new dietary program until you have flushed all the accumulated, impacted debris and poisonous residues from your former dietary habits out of your digestive tract.
When you put new oil into your car engine, you don't pour it on top of the old filthy oil, but you first drain the old dirty oil out of the engine. The least you could do is treat your own body with the same respect and care you give your car engine.
You will probably continue with the wrong combinations of food as long as you live and so will continue to need colon cleansings. Once you've done one or cleansing two programs you are on your way to simply and routinely cleansing yourself regularly. The elimination of undigested food and other waste products is equally as important as the proper digestion and assimilation of food.
REMEMBER --> The very best diets can be no better than the very worst if the sewage system of the colon is clogged with a collection of waste and corruption.
