Re: To Jake re. liver and stomach HCL

Good bile flow is also essential for detoxification, which is one of the major tasks of the liver.
The liver is constantly bombarded with toxic chemicals from the environment: the food we eat,
the water we drink, and the air we breathe. Bile serves as a carrier for these toxic substances,
delivering them into the intestine for further elimination from the body. This is the major route
for excretion of cholesterol. Yet another feature of the bile is helpful here: its promotion of
intestinal peristalsis, which helps prevent constipation.

Low levels of Hydrochloric levels can also cause irritation of stomach lining. If hydrochloric acid
levels are very low, sometimes the emptying time of the stomach is delayed for so long that bile
is regurgitated backward from the duodenum into the stomach. Bile is caustic, or corrosive,
and very irritating to the stomach lining. Because bile is alkaline, it causes a reflex secretion
of stomach acid to neutralize it.

At this point the person will likely experience a burning sensation. Taking an antacid will relieve
the burn, of course; but the stomach only becomes acidic after the bile had been regurgitated
back into it. If there had been enough hydrochloric acid when it was needed, no burning sensation
would have been experienced later.

Antacids negative interference with the digestive process contributes to the formation of degenerative
diseases. Indigestion, the reason people take antacids, is a symptom of digestive weakness.

Fortunately, there is a better solution than taking antacids. It makes more sense to strengthen the
digestive process and eliminate the cause of indigestion in the first place.

Taking Ultimate Enzymes digestive enzymes with meals can correct most cases of indigestion
by supplying the stomach with enough acid when it is needed. The only time it is not wise to take
supplementary HCI (hydrochloric acid) is when an ulcer is actually present. If you were to take a
supplement containing HCI and you had an ulcer, you would notice a burning sensation behind
the tip of the breastbone within minutes of taking such a product. If that happens, a little dolomite
or baking soda will neutralize the excess acid to provide relief within a few minutes.

Getting Your Own HCI And Bile To Work

Betaine strengthens your digestive process, stimulates your body’s own production of HCI and
bile, and provides the necessary digestive enzymes to break down protein, starch, carbohydrates,
fat, and fiber, rounding out the digestive process.
