Re: mucous smell in breath help
"...only
Antibiotics take the smell away and as soon as I finish them it comes back worse!"
If there's some sort of bacterial infection goin' on, you can't take
Antibiotics forever, so I'd suggest taking steps to boost your overall immune function. Some "boost immune system" search homework on Google would be in order, and herbal/nutritional/vitamin supplements such as those in link #1 may also be helpful. Rather then take individual herbs, you'd be better off finding a formulated BLEND from a reputable supplier. The link also has info on immune boosting theories and methods.
Gargling with an antibacterial such as goldenseal, thyme, sage, or tea tree oil in warm water can also help kill bacteria, as can Listerine. A very inexpensive option I once heard about is to put a large amount of salt (a few teaspoons) into just enough warm water to gargle with. Since salt has been used for thousands of years as a food preservative, I guess a very highly concentrated salt solution could act as an antibacterial gargle as well, and salt's about as cheap as it gets.
