Re: So glad I am not alone...
Smellyman,
Wow, when I read your response I was shocked and almost cried, because I didn't belief there was anybody that is experiencing the same type of thing. In a way I am reliefed that there are others with the same type of problem. It is very weird, what you are describing is exactly what's happening to me, even the family thing. I am not married anymore, but my family and ex-spouse couldn't not smell anything, neither can I. my family told I am crazy, but too many people in social situations have made comments like you mentioned "somebody needs to wash their ass etc. almost verbatum". Lack of hygiene is most definetly NOT the problem here, because statements like this are made even 30 after I got out of the shower. (Deodorants, powers etc are all in use here.)
Right now I am at a point, where I find it very hard to go on with my life and have even considered shutting myself off from the physical world.....it is very frustrating and depressing to lead a life without social interactions of any kind.
So, I've been to two doctors so far, have explained my problem to them, and neither of them could confirm me that I smelled, they pretty much simply smelled my body head to toe. Nevertheless, the comments I get from others are very clear - "wash your ass".
Have you been to any doctors besides that appointment you have in two weeks? If yes what type of doctors do you visit? If you can't smell the smell how do you know what type of doctor to visit? What did the doctors tell you?
Is your problem constantly - you say your family doesn't notice, what about friends? Is it strictly at work that you hear comments like that? Any remedies, or website that you can recommend? Do you smell it?
It is very hard to live with a problem like this and to be treated respectfully and be viewed as full human being.
I know many questions, I was just moved when I read your message, it's almost like I posted your message... I hope you will reply..... desperate and lonely.
