I'm on Day Two!
(Markus, you and I are on the same day of the fast! Except you are in Germany, so your time is different. )
Hello, Everyone!
This is my second day on the cleanse. It's late afternoon and I am feeling pretty low on energy. I felt this way yesterday at this time, so I think I will need to brace myself for this everyday.
I think if I know to expect this slump, then I can mentally prepare myself for it. I may end up visiting this site every afternoon, just so I glean some encouragement from you all.
Some things I've been experiencing:
I already feel like I can think clearer.
I feel so nauseated when hunger strikes that the lemon-maple drink is hard to take. I find if I try not to smell it and just gulp it quickly I feel much better.
The temptation is strongest to eat when I am preparing food for my kids and hubby. I used to just pop things in my mouth as I worked on a meal, or lick my fingers, etc. Now I am realizing how often I did that before, and I'll bet a lot of my extra calories have always come from that kind of carelessness.
It is hard to prepare a lovely meal, knowing that you will not be enjoying it. Rather than watch my family eat last night, and thus pining over a pleasure I could not have-- I decided to replace that with a pleasure I could have: a nice long hot shower, and time to do my nails. My husband didn't mind that I wasn't at the table-- he's really supporting me in this.
Evenings are hardest for resisting food. Usually, evenings are snack times. But that's a habit I should break anyway.
Cheers,
Sunshine
