Naturopath told me, "DO NOT CLEANSE!". Who should I believe?
Hi,
I was just diagnosed with a gallstone yesterday by ultrasound, after having 2 attacks in the last 2 months. I haven't been back to my doctor yet, but I expect he'll recommend surgery, which I don't want. I've read all about these flushes and also some of the concerns against them.
Since I was nervous about doing a flush, I figured I could at least do it under the supervision of a Naturopath. I went to one and he highly looked down upon the idea. He said that these stones are just the olive oil being digested. I told him that people have had their's tested and the results are that they are mostly cholesterol, and he said that's from the olive oil. He was very concerned about the potential of the stone becoming stuck and requiring immediate surgery. I have read articles that coincide with his views, so I don't know what to believe.
I was very disappointed, because I wanted an a way to cure my problem, not just fix the symptoms and cope with it.
Has anyone had ultrasounds done after doing flushes to verify there are no longer stones?
Please help!
Thanks so much,
Brea
