Actually, I was responding to the initial post, not to your reply, Grog.
As I said, I'm not vegetarian. This person was asking for opinions, so I gave mine, which was clarifying their understanding of what they were doing, and mentioning concern about their sources.
OK, sure, I guess it "can be done." It's "possible" just not adviseable. As far as weight loss, anyway. Although too much cheese and nuts can really raise the carb levels, and I would have a concern about people avoiding veggies. And large amounts of soy could mess up thyroid, hormones, etc. too, which can make it harder to lose weight, both during the diet and afterwards.
So I was just mentioning concerns, which I think people should really consider.
I couldn't really say "Go for it!" with a good conscious. I don't think that "support" means telling everyone "you can do it!" no matter what they want to do.
