Re: Wilson, if you're out there?
Sorry it's taken so long to respond...I haven't been coming here as often now that I have broken my fast.
When I originally started the fast I had losing weight and cleansing as my goal. I thougt I'd try to get down to a certain weight within a certain time frame and then break the fast. After being on it for a couple weeks I stopped looking at the calendar and scale in favor of doing it one day at a time...which is the healthy way to do it. Sometimes your body just wants you to stop so that it can rebuild and if you are experiencing true hunger then that is the call to stop. As for me, I could have done a couple more days or a week as I had some more weight to shed and more detoxing to accomplish. But I started to think about food more and more and it was not just "junk" food. I was craving fruit and vegetables so I knew it was time to stop. I also had a hectic schedule coming up and knew that maintaining the fast was going to be hard and maybe unhealthy.
My first few days back has been primarly fresh organic fruit.
Watermelon the first day and other melons the next. I ate some grapes and drank some fresh juiced orange juice. Everything has been an explosion of flavor! I also noticed that I'm still detoxing as my diet consists of juice. Today I moved towards something a bit more chewy and had an organic orange/banana smoothie today. Tonight I treated myself to "Mock Tuna" rollups made from soaked almonds and sunflower seeds and rolled up in green leaf with sprouts. Tasted awesome but I could only eat 2 before I felt totally satisfied. It was like my body said "OK, that's enough, stop eating"...whereas before I would have kept eating inspite of feeling full.
As for my diet, I have been doing raw for the last couple of months and I plan to continue that at least through the summer. That in itself should help with maintaining a continous cleansing process. Doing raw alone does a lot of good things but it's still nice to take a break from eating at least once a year...especially if you have health issues.
It is my opinion that if you maintain a healthy lifestyle (such as the raw diet) then you shouldn't need to cleanse more than once a year. I plan to do my yearly cleanse in the spring of of each year as a sort of house keeping to get ready for the summer. This is the first year I did that I started way to late. Next year I plan to have my fast over by this time of the year!
Anyway to wrap this up...I feel pretty good. Still a bit tired and weak from the fast but that is probably because I'm still doing a bit of detox as I get back to my regular diet. I plan to do a
Liver Flush this weekend so that should help a bit with my energy level.
Hope that answers your questions!
Good luck
Wilson
