Re: Bad for Candida?

I'm not too sure that the Master-Cleanse is going to agravate your candida. I just read an excellent article in "Conscious Eating" by Gabriel Cousens M.D. He states in his book that the primary problem with Sugar and candida is when you mix it with fat. Fat slows down the assimilation process and allows fermentation and that in turn allows the candida organisms to feed off that. All foods are converted to simple Sugar (glucose) and is the food for cellular function. Consuming fast absorbtion sugars such as fruit or even maple syrup is fast abosorbed into the blood stream for utilization of the body. It just isn't around long enough for the candida to thrive. Don't believe me? Try going a couple extra hours without your lemonade!!
He went on to say the best way to eliminate candida is to introduce friendly bacteria that competes with candida albicans and be sure to consume simple sugars that the body can quickly assimilate. Getting lots of areobic exercise is also good therapy. Trying to fight negative candida while consuming fats will make for a long process. However, consuming simple sugars from fruit and vegetables and probiotics will cause candida die off in as little as 3 weeks. If you are unsure, then fight your candida first then do the cleanse later. Sounds like you have too much on your plate to deal with at any one time.
