The suggestions you made are pretty much what I already do. We only buy "healthy", organic chips and things like that and I wouldn't consider buying store-bought cookies. I make breakfasts and dinners from scratch at least 90% of the time, it's just those darn lunches that are hard. The kids won't take leftovers usually. The homeschool life definitely has it's benefits, an opportunity for better nutrition being one of them. Now if only our little Christian school (where the kids all go and I teach part-time) would get on the NT bandwagon!
