You offer no reason for thinking that he feels any way other than the way he states. If you love him, and trust him, then why doubt his words?
I've been in my fair share of "LD" relationships before, and you are right. Communication is important. But there is more. Understanding and NOT-over analyzing are just two of them.

If there is more to this than what you have expressed so far, then please share it. Otherwise, I think your statement at the end of your first post sums it up well enough...
