This probably isn't what you want to hear, but I have to be direct. Online relationships is something kids do before they have the opportunity to date for real. They can be nice, but they are not real and two years is way too long to drag it out. A few of my friends actually met their bf/gf online (not online personals), but they met within a few months and initiated a real-life relationship. No matter how ugly/fat/dysfunctional/shy/inadequate/asexual you are, you are not going to make anything better by torturing yourself with some fantasy. If you're not into openly looking for dates, join some club or take a class locally just to meet people and hang out (role playing gigs don't count - they're more of the same).
