For about the past two or 3 years I've been breaking out in red blotches around my neck and one on my chest every time I got too hot or any amount of sun. They aren't rashes though because they don't itch. They aren't on my nose or cheeks. One sometimes appears on my upper lip and another on my shoulder, when it goes away it leaves a patch of dry skin about the size of a quarter that flakes away. It seems to be affected by how I shave it (not too close). I don't have the one on my lip or shoulder anymore though.
Last year I spent a year in the tropics and it really got bad. Now the weather is warming up again it is just as bad. I'm fasting now (which brought me to this forum) and the fasting seems to make it even worse with blotches all around my neck and beard line. I was hoping the fasting would burn out whatever toxins might be causing it. I have somewhat fair and freckly skin, but not the fairest I've seen as I can tan a little. It never happened before in my teens when I used to burn occaisionally. I avoid burning now but I do like some sun as it gives you vitamin D. What's going on? Is this rosacea?
