Re: Losing my mind!
Hi Willy. When you start a
Water Fast you tend to burn off toxins extremely fast. This can increase irritability, impatience, and cause crazy dreams and mood swings. So if you're already down in the dumps I don't recommend it. Not yet. I'm not a doc so those on this board may have better advice for you and this is just my opinion from what I've learned in my life. What I do know about fasting is it feels great to start off with a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, then go to just fruits and juices for a few days. Then start your fast.
I will tell you that I've been where you are a couple times in life. It's hell when we experience a loss of someone we love, failure to accomplish certain goals or some other serious problem or problems in life that could be ongoing.
I'll tell you what I've learned. You mentioned you keep your blinds closed. This makes your feelings worse. I know daylight is important and a regular sleep schedule is super important. Try to get that back to normal. You know what a circadian rhythm is? It's the daily cycle of our body's processes. It lasts around 24 hours. When it burns energy, when we can do our best thinking, best excercise and best sleep. Find out about it.
When you get those things back to normal, daily sunlight and normal regular sleep, your body starts to feel better so that what's bugging you improves. It's still there but you're better able to deal. You know? Try to get active, and do excercise occaisionally. Even if it is just walking. On your walks try to enjoy the little things that are just because, like a sunset, or animals playing or smells or chatter or kids. You'll be amazed at how great you feel just after a 45 minute walk.
After that try to take on projects or maybe if it is a project that is eating you try to work on it for just one hour. If it's loss of a loved one that is eating you write them a letter and keep the letter for a while. If that person is around, keep the letter around long enough to decide if they are really worth sending it to. If not or if they aren't around drop the letter in a river. They may get it spiritually, you never know. But what's most important is to get those thoughts down on paper and out of your head with any trouble that is eating you. Try to talk to friends or family too. Live each day one day at a time. Just concentrate on right now. Try to forget the past and don't think too much about the future. And remember at times things sometimes feel like you can't go on but remember this, all things will pass on. This too will pass. E-mail me if you feel like it.
