I bought the e-book and frankly I don't think it was worth the price. There are a lot of variations to the soup recipe, but here is a general version. If you do the diet for seven days and no more, then perhaps you can stick to it. On the first day you can have soup and fruit, on the second day you can have soup and non-starchy vegetables, on the third day you get one potato-baked, no butter. In some versions you can have skim milk and babnanas on the fourth day, in others its fruit and veggies. On day five you can have protien, either lean beef, chicken breast or beans. I forget days six and sevenm, but the idea is to eat all the soup you want, plus one other food group. For breakfast have grapefruit or raw apples, for snacks either Celery or raw apples. This is not a diet for long term, but it did take a lot of weight off for me.
Basic diet soup: (my version)
Two cans diced tomatoes
one or two small cans V-8 juice-optional,but tasty
one head cabbage chopped-size depends on how much you like cabbage
5-7 carrots peeled and sliced
one or two bell peppers chopped
4-6 stalks of Celery chopped
1-2 onions chopped
one bunch green onions chopped
garlic to taste
Mrs Dash or other non salt seasoning to taste
simmer in large stock pot until tender. Eat as much soup as you want every day for seven days. Do not do this more often than once a month. No bread, sweets, fruit juice, allowed.
Some recipes also call for the addition of brown rice and green veggies. I liked my greens on the side apart from the soup. Also you can eat plain raw green salads.
The idea is these complex foods require more energy to digest and assimilate than they contain. Fuhrman also supports this theory in his six week rapid weight loss Eat To Live plan. The only problem is that it gets boring-but so does fasting. This is a good clean diet that can help detox you and prepare you for a pure water fast.
