I have the same problems with eating. Stress or strong emotions really make me lose control. One thing I have learned though is not to give up on everything you genuinely enjoy eating. Give yourself permission to enjoy some of your favorite treats from time to time. We really don't need a cheeseburger everyday to be happy-but I sure do enjoy them once in a while. Raw vegan is not for me. I'm trying to get back to the formula my doctor gave me: 80% fruits and veggies-at least half of them raw; 10% animal products-this includes both meat and dairy; 10% grains and cereals-this includes the occasional junk treat. Even my skinny Chiropractor admits a weakness for chocolate cake and ice cream, its just that he makes it a rare treat.
Meditate on this Bible verse as it might relate to the foods you eat. Ask God to allow you to eat in a way that is healthy for you, pleasing to Him, and is based on His will for us, not fad diets.
"All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful to me, but I will not be brought under the power of any." I Corinthians 6:12
So many of us need to break the emotional, social, and cultural hold that food has on us. We must also deny satan the pleasure of making us feel guilty or less than we are in God's eyes because we struggle with food issues. Gluttony may be a sin, but so is self righteousness and being judgmental; don't let others drag you down. You are not the only person who struggles with this, believe me.
