I can relate to the Sugar addiction. Felt the same way! However, the more I have the candida under control, the less I want sugar. It is, in some ways, a barometer on how things are going with the candida problem. My cravings for malt used to be even more intense- those also went away. (Ice cream without malt--what for?) :)
When I have the candida very well under control, the interest in Sugar disappears altogether and I could care less! If I have a small piece of something with Sugar out of politeness (social gathering) I find it doesn't even taste good, and don't need to finish.
Sorry, whatever mechanism the candida uses to urge us to feed it with sugar, I have no idea and can't tell you. Wouldn't it be interesting to know!?! :)
