Have you read the book The Warriors Diet from Ori Hofmekler?
In this book they talk about doing shorter fasts 16-18 hr fasts, basically eating one meal a day. You metabolism is as good as your last meal, and by doing shorter fasts you become sharper, more alert, have more energy, and by eating your metabolism doesn't shut down.
I have read the book, and I am currently trying it out. I am only on my second day of it, so its all theory at this point. I will be able to post on it in a few weeks if it pans out.
There is lots of information of shorter fasts, basically what it comes down to is what are your goals when it comes to fasting? And don't get fasting and starving mixed up, they are two different concepts.
