Yes using this Shunt type object is new to the "area" of womens tubes.. But the same procedure is old & has been done for many many years in several other "Areas of the body". So they can be fairly accurate on what it is to do... Nothing is 100% & nobody can predict how their body will react to ANY procedure. Does not make the procedure Malfunctioning.

This is new to Doctors so You need to ask how many procedures your doctor has done.
How long has his office been Qualified to do this Procedure.

You don't want to be on his "learning Curve" so find another more experienced doc & hospital to do THIS procedure.

I was "chatting" with a Child-free group & of the 6 had the procedure done in early 2003.
As I talked to them 5 had Zero problems & 1's Doc needed 3 attempts on her left side to get it "just" right But it was also the way her tube was angeled She was watching from the TV monitor :) She was also a NON child bearing woman.

These woman as of March 2004 were still bragging how good it was But they did mention A "Detox" from Birth Control Drugs Kinda Hormanal episodes ....which is completely understandable & I told them about Liver Flushes :)

My Observations:
1> No More BC Drugs in my liver/body

2> It is "Permanent" Meaning you can't just stop & get preggers... BUT if something Goes Wrong They Can Cut out that part of the Tube & remove it. JUST like a Regular Tubal.

3>Using your own Tissue to block a tube is Less Intrusive to your body.

4> Hmmm Did I mention my kid is 19 & I'm 40 & single Woo Hoo
