Doesn't a fast cleanse the bowels as well?

Hi,

I was just wondering, I got rid of a lot "black" stuff with my first bowel movement after breaking my water-fast. I'm just wondering, doesn't fasting cleanse the body enough? Like the bowels for example? Why do we need to have bowel cleanses, etc, when fasting does a whole body cleanse? I understand that it doesn't flush stones, although some things that came out were questionably of similar variety (except I don't have a coliander so I didn't go ahead and discover for sure).

I'm nearly 21. I guess my situation is different than those who are older than me. I just wanted some general feedback since I know I will continue to do liver flushes, etc, but I'm not sure if I require much else. I'll also do another 7-day water fast at the end of the summer.

Thanks,
-Amir
