I have only made slight changes so far, and find the very same.
Lately, I have really started juicing: mixed fruits, mixed vegetables (including root vegetables and the winter squash family) and one whole lemon with the peel and all. Then drink one 8oz cup with a bit of Sea Salt . result: totally energized, and not that hungry.
Something else that has been a "surprise" filler:
Process any vegetables and seasonings normally put in a salad or soup, to a salsa or pesto consistency, add lemon juice, olive oil and Sea Salt .
Then add this (raw) to hot soups or whatever you are eating. It fills you up, and you don't even know it - all your vegetables are in kind of a "dressing". It is also DELICIOUS.
At this time, I'm just experimenting, but so far it has been fun...
PS: I have so far left out starchy vegetables like white potato.
