If you've never tried Crocs, you're in for a big treat!

The wearing of Crocs isn't really compared in feeling and fit to wearing other shoes. I was in Montana about 2 1/2 years ago and managed to get some way ahead of the trend here where I live. People would look at my crocs and go, What are THOSE? So for about a year, people thought I was weird. Then the cool people started wearing them and now you see them all over the place. 1st time I was ever on the leading edge of a fashion trend! lol

But seriously, about wearing them.
I have narrow feet. But my feet seem to enjoy the extra room in there. They don't fit tight, they sorta "rattle around." I think it's a good thing, they aren't bound up tightly. They don't "fit" my feet in the traditional sense, like tennis shoes. And my toes can kinda spread out and "grip" as I walk, which I prefer.
They are VERY lightweight, that is one reason people like them.
The material is quite soft, it "gives" a little as you step, a good shock absorber. The little bumps? I think they are just so that you won't slide around, especially if the feet are wet. I don't feel them, anyway.
And one of the big appeals is the big holes all over, which let your feet breathe! Open air exposure!
Oh, and you can get your feet wet and then just shake the shoe off and everything's dry again.

They are very popular with nurses these days, because they are comfortable and lightweight, plus they are sterile (if someone throws up or gets other "fluids" on the shoes, they can just go wash them with hot water and soap).

So one reason they are a trend (and popular on curezone) is that they are good compromise between having to wear shoes to be socially acceptable, but you really would rather not. And since they do "cover" your feet, you can wear them more places than flip-flops or other sandals. There are even some men's "hybrid" that have a little bit of leather with laces for that preppie look up on the top of the foot, the bottom half being regular croc in a similar color. Looks good with men's chinos.

Yes, they are synthetic material, that's the main downside. However, since they are letting the feet "breathe" it doesn't seem to be as big a deal.

If you get the chance to try some on in the store, then give them a try.
I did have to "wear them in" a few days, but now I can wear them anywhere, all day.
At home, I'm barefoot, and sometimes I wear Adidas Adisage sandals. Crocs and Adisage are my shoe staples, the others I only wear for certain occasions.
