HELP PUPPY HAS A COLD-What med to Give him

hi i have a question. i bought a shih ztu puppy he is 12 weeks and is almost 4 pds, he seems to have kennel cough, since this morning he has been coughing alot and also not acting like his usual self, he has been with with us for 3 days now, he has alot of guck on his eyes, and lik i said is coughing alot, not sure what medicine to give him, a friend tells me to give me regular cold medicine, but i wont do that, can anyone tell me what i can give him that is safe, i cannot see my vet until tuesday so let me know what you think\

by the way my older dog is jealous of him and this morning scared him to death when the puppy was playing with him, he didnt bite him at all, but the puppy seems so scared now too. Tweet
