Fasting for weight loss vs. VLCD??? PLEASE help me...

I desperately need to lose 30+ pounds within the next month(is that even possible?)...and I know that this is a forum about fasting for weight loss, but I just thought that some of you might be able to help me better understand my options...
So, I currently weigh 180 pounds & would like to be at 150 pounds in the next month. Would maintaining a very low calorie diet >700cals/day & light exercise be just as effective as juice fasting (of course, besides the benefits of removing toxins from your body,etc.)?
I really, truly do not mean to offend anyone by asking this question, I just thought that maybe someone w/personal experience from fasting could help me to answer this question since many of the people I have already spoken to about this particularly issue just think that fasting is a ludcridous idea (which I dont agree with)...
So, any advice???
