picking moreless' brain

Hi moreless, thanks for your time and consideration on this subject. My brothers avocado grove info is as follows.80acres organic 60 acres non-organic.Approx. 9,000-10,000 trees.Watered by manually turning on sprinkler type irrigation, water is applied according to the grove managers' experience[by sight].Fertized with chicken manure through the water,[what does that mean?].As far as mulching is concerned he said they use the fallen leaves and tree debris and this layer is about 3-4 inches deep.Almost all the groves are 10 yrs. old or older up to 40 yrs. old.My brother says they yield about 7500-8000lbs. per acre over the last few yrs.He has never brought in cosultants and basically relies on his grove managers' 30 yrs of experience. thanks again look foward to your insights.
