I am not a sufferer YET, but I imagine it will spread (only a matter of time, most likely). There have been reports of bedbugs here in the U.S. in hotels and residences. I haven't heard of any follow up on those problems (might be hushed up). There is probably no reason to rule out the possibility that this is a result of common bedbugs. It would be reasonable to think doctors don't want to publicize a failure to stop a crisis and health officials would also want to cover it up in order to prevent panic in schools and public places wherever people gather.
