Re: I am Getting the Mirena Removed Friday after 6 months. I hope my symptoms go away, as the nurse at my doctors office laughed at me and said "it's not from the Mirena."
i also got my mirena after the birth of my second child. she is also now 7mths. the time between my two girls is 14 mths and 17days. ok, let me tell you, dr's dont know everything. so of course, neither do nurses. i had headaches everyday, cramping, fatigue, oily skin and acne. i felt nothing like my normal self. i started hurting really bad feb. 10 and was so glad when it came out on the 22nd. the next day, i kid you not, i felt so much better. i had so much energy. i didnt feel like i needed a nap. i could keep up with my kids. there was such a drastic change. a few days later i started feeling bad again, but nowhere near as bad as i had been. i also chose mirena so that i would not have to worry about taking a pill everyday (thats how we ended up with our baby daughter-and the fact that ive had some serious problems with a certain kind before). my husband had already decided that he was going to get a vasectomy. he had it done nearly three weeks ago. hes so happy about it. so, now, next year we dont have to worry about me getting pregnant again. we found out ten days after he got it done that i was already pregnant, again. so if you do get it taken out, be extra careful if you do not watn another little one running around. it took less than four weeks for me to get pregnant after it came out. so start immediatley with another form of birth control. as for suggestions, sorry i have none. i had decided to go a nonhormonal route-unfortunaltey there are very little choices that way.
