Re: Help! Please... =(*
Hi Kaybie. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I have also been through very similar struggles with fasting/binging cycles. I still don't know how to overcome this, but I have learned some important things along the way that might help you. I've learned that I have to be very very careful about what and how I eat when coming off a fast and that I really have to avoid my
food intolerances and foods that I have food addiction to because those are what trigger binges for me. For example, I did fine coming off a fast before with just eating fruits and fresh juices and was able to return to eating healthy quite alright. But another time I was doing fine until I had a small serving of plain, organic whole wheat cereal... I ended up eating the whole box, then basically everything in sight including a whole lot of junk food that I normally wouldn't have eaten before, which led to like a month long binge on all this unhealthy stuff that I wasn't even eating prior to my fast. It was really bad. :( I think I've learned that I definitely need to avoid wheat, gluten, dairy, and all processed sugars/foods cause those are definite trigger foods for me. Also, like one poster said, you may be binging because of deficiencies, like iodine. I really recommend doing a juice fast with lots of green juices instead of a water only fast because that would offer you great nutritional support while still being able to get much of the same benefits as water fasting. If you can, eating a pre-cleanse diet of fruits and veggies and juices prior to fasting would help A LOT too. I wish I had more helpful info, but I just wanted to offer my support because I totally feel what you are going through. Good luck and let us know how you are doing!
