I dont know what could be causing them, but I will tell you that I experienced them too while I had my Mirena in, and I had 2 children before. Nobody ever gave me a reason as to why I was getting the pains or what was causing them but they were horrible. I took my Mirena out on Friday (I had it for 1 1/2 yrs) and I have felt fine ever since.
