Being ordained 3 years ago, and without a congregation that will be of our area, we have been in a sermon limbo space ourselves for a while.
Mainstream churches don't want to hear what we have been shown by Jesus Himself (since it challenges their tenets), so Jesus has us going out from our area on a long slow trip from Colorado to Georgia. We were told Christmas 2004 to "Do nothing, plan nothing". We have just now been told to have a garage sale this coming weekend.
We have as humans a desire to "see results" and while this journey has given us lots of knowledge and wisdom so far, not many results as far as saved souls. The garage sale this weekend will have some tangible success in funds, but Jesus has other ways of measuring "success". Maybe a person will stop by, and see the mural that was painted last year, with Jesus inviting the viewer to come with Him into God's presence. Maybe this will be the only Good News (Gospel) they ever get in their lives. Maybe the family that has been invited to partake in the garage sale will get a message from being in the murals space for two days. I don't know. I don't know what success has come from us staying this course for so long. I don't know what success has been achieved from all the posting Mary and I have done here over the years, but Jesus does!!!!! Blessed are those that have not seen and still Believe!
The message I have been given to speak centers on why and how to come into the presence of Christ and God here and now, after all, how can anyone lead another to Christ and God, unless they have gone there themselves. After all the posts on this and other boards, I have very little tangible success to point to, but I'm not the one who knows the hearts of all those that have read and gone where they had never gone before.
