Re: Thank You All!!

I just found this site tonight and am in awe and rage...I had the Mirena put in Oct 2006 (when my second child was almost 3 months old) and immediately 2 weeks after I started having insomnia with heart palpitations/anxiety and severe pain under my shoulder blades (and then of course the exhaustion/frustration/moodiness all day from no sleep). I thought it was just the post-partum hormones and stress from waking to care for the baby or issues with a recent traumatic event...

But I have been doing everything to try to cure myself: doctor, therapy, naturopath doctor, acupuncture and slews of supplements (and all our $$) to treat what they think is adrenal fatigue (blood test good, thyroid good) and post-partum/post traumatic stress, but nothing has really worked so far to their surprise. I asked my ob/gyn, therapist, naturopath if it could be the IUD and nobody thought that was possible...but I have always had a lingering feeling that maybe it could be. I have always been sensitive to the pill (but not in this way just moodiness). I also over these months have developed joint pain in my feet and hypoglycemia despite being very careful of a healthy diet.

I had done web searches over these months to find if there were reports of these symptoms with the Mirena and never found any til I found this website. I wish tomorrow were not the weekend and I could take it out immediately. I have been suffering for so long and am outraged that all of us women have not been listened to and that the medical community is in the dark! Thank you so much to all of you for not giving up trying to understand and for communicating...I will post what happens when I get it out...I hope that this will help resolve my health issues. Tweet
