Re: nasal irrigator, doctors, and everything else
Irrigation: I began using nasal irrigation about a month ago and immediately noticed better capacity to smell, though now I smell things like air pollution that I didn't smell before, so it's not all great. ;o) Incidentally, I had the beginnings of a headache the other day and only reluctantly did an irrigation cuz I thought it might make the headache worse. To my COMPLETE surprise, my headache was gone in seconds (literally 10 seconds!) after doing the irrigation. I don't know if it cooled something to relieve the pain or what but the immediate disappearance of the headache totally amazed me. Anyone else find this?
Doctors: As for the previous posting about why doctors don't share this info, I think I know. Doctors don't have TIME to educate their patients anymore. They barely even have the time to say hello, prescribe a pill, and sign a form! Can you imagine how many doc-hours would be used up trying to teach patients how to flush, then all the hours spent going over each and every gallstone, chaff, worm, etc., etc.? It's a sad state American medicine is in. Even sadder how many people suffer needlessly.
