Re: Well I'll Start It
See you have a lot to give BTDT. I meant to say that before. I just want to say keep the good stuff coming! It's good stuff! :-)
Ok. He asked why we think Christianity is better, so I gave my opinion. I know it takes a judgement to make that distinction, but it can also be just stating the facts too. That's what I was trying to do. There are good and bad points in both religions. I just believe Christianity the way Jesus taught is a more complete religion.
Yeah the Tao isn't a religion where you worship a diety. It's more like what you said a way to live.
Hinduism does have a ultimate God head called Rom. (That's how it sounds, not sure if it's spelled right though) They also have lesser God type beings which is the part I don't agree in acknowledging. To each their own though. Someone who seeks the truth will eventually realize there is no point in acknowledging anything less than the original un-created holy one.
The Hindu's have had wars. I think they were more defending the home land type wars, with Muslims and England I believe. Not the divide and conquer the world type of wars like the crusades, like you said. I'm not sure about the Taoists. A lot of the "top" Taoists were more like wondering drunks.
And you are so right, no other religion has the creator of the universe at their center.
I don't believe real "priests, sholars, and pastors require PREVENTION of us becoming individuals and learning self-attainment." But unfortunately where there's money, that's what you get. (like you basically said)
Nice talking to you BTDT!
