Vitamix Benefits

Be happy to. The Vitamix is a unique and valuable tool for healing. Many are enamored with the purity of a vegetable juice strained of all particles. The purest form of the fruit or veg is considered by some to be in the juice. It certainly is good to have in the body no doubt but I feel the benefits may be limited.

The most valuable part of fruit or veggies is in the stems, seeds, skins and fiber. When I was in India with a group of others we used to eat mangoes when they were in season. We had two sets of monkeys come each day to go through the garbage pit behind the house in the Himalayas.

In a ritualistic manner the reddish smallish scruffy (and noisy) monkeys
would get into the pit and immediately go for the mangoes which had a small amount of flesh left on the large pits. These mangoes were the very large and expensive Duseri mango. Anyway they would break open the extremely hard pit to eat the ivory white and very bitter insides of the pit. Every evening before sundown another set of monkeys came with their long black faces, silverish fur, curling long tails and very human characteristics. They were noble and silent and methodical in every movement. These silver monkeys did the same thing. They ate the ivory pulp inside the pit and left everything else including other fruits and vegetables.

My research led me to understand that we humans may be throwing away the most valuable asset in our foods which are the phytonutrients which are the real healers.
The Vitamix takes the skins, seeds, stalks and stems and grinds them to a very fine pulp. Its in this fiber that attracts the toxins and carries them out of the body. The juices are useless for this.

So my Vitamix diet is about the phytonutrients and making them small enough so that they can be utilized in the body. Chewing skins in the mouth is insufficient to break them down enough. The two horsepower Vitamix does it easily.

Mostly I enjoy raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, parsley, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, pineapples, Watermelon and things like that. These can be easily mixed with sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts, that all break down into a liquid state. Pears and greens are good too. spinach, chard etc etc. Because of the high power and speed I add ice to keep the temperatures neutral to cool. I also like to add lecithin granules especially gives a nice smooth texture and I like the flavor. There are a multitude of options.

Recently my portions have gotten quite a bit smaller and I am not losing any weight. That is something I do not need to do. The nuts and seeds may not be good for others but its ok in moderation for me. I need the oils too since I am a vata type.

I will be in Chicago this weekend attending a seminar.
