Your problem i think is quite common these days. i am very aware of the Secret. Is this the one from Earl Nightingale "the Strangest Secret"? I do not know where you live or where you think you might find it better and jobs being more available. There are plenty of jobs that are available and resources on the net, if you qualify for the position. The problem is that the older you get the harder it is to find someone that will hire you. A lot of this depends on the field and what you are expecting financially. Our illegal immigration problem has lowered pay rates and so you may find it might require a severe pay cut to get some sort of income. I do not know where you want to be and if you have thought about transportation, housing costs, and job availabilities. I know you mentioned the NE is where you would like to go back to, but snow is very prevalent and jobs are in short supply there.

The one thing that you need to think about is that what happens to you will be as a result of your own doing. Depending on anyone else is going to get you no where as i have discovered that the friends you think you have are not there when you need them. So i very quickly learned that to live you have to make things happen on your own. My life collapsed and it has taken about 9 years to recover and still working to make things better. What ever you do it will not happen over night. You may want to look up DBT or Dialectical Behavior Therapy as a guide to help you grow and find resolve in your situation. The information is pretty clear online and may give you great guidance to the program.
