First of all, apologies for being so late with this reply, I have been extremely busy...
I am so sorry to hear of your mom's possible cancer, it sounds as though she has already been through the wringer with the medicos.
If I were you, I would focus on letting your mom knows how much you love her and just be there for her no matter what her decisions. Give her the info that resonates with you(you've gotten lots of good info in this thread) but don't push it. She does not need to feel as though her son feels as though he is "right" and she is "wrong" at this time. Don't put her on the defensive.
We all have the right to live, and die as we choose. Just love her and do the best you can to let her know that she is loved, and cared for, and that she would be missed. Let her know that you need her, that so and so needs her. People live longer when they feel as though they are not "done".
I hope that she does NOT have lung cancer, I am writing this on the assumption that she does.
I lost my mom almost 11 years ago. I'm just glad that we had some quality time together before she went...
