Without reading any of the replies to your original post, I can advise you not to have the tooth pulled.
Go by the XRay. If the abscess is only faintly visible, then I'd say you have no problem. If it is clearly visible, the abscess will dry-up with a healthy Diet.
Repeat....save your teeth....WY
