Hi all,
I posted a message 2 weeks ago about a study I found that showed that a combination of the amino acids l-lysine and larginine helps to normalise the stress response in individuals presenting with high trait anxiety. I wanted to share my results in the hope that it may benefit others with high anxiety/high cortisol. I have been consistently taking a dosage of 3 grams of each daily for two weeks now to test it out. The only thing I can say is WOW!! I had been relying on Xanax intermitently for a number of months to try and curb the crippling anxiety I had been experiencing. I havent needed it all since taking the above supplements. Apparently this combination works just like a benzodiazepine but without the awful brain fog, lack of focus, and concentration whilst also improving the cortisol response. I have experienced social anxiety for years and it is now gone!I dont think I have ever felt so at peace and calm in my entire life. My doctor will be testing my saliva cortisol soon and I am so excited to see the results. My symptoms of high cortisol are pretty much gone too. I have found that my mood is greatly improved also. This combo influences the GABA receptors in the gut boosting serotonin levels. I do need to take digestive enzymes with each meal though as I find my digestion needs the extra support. I have found though that the supplements have greatly improved if not resolved my recurring diarrhoea/constipation issues that have plagued me for years during the high cortisol stage, I will even venture to guess that it is helping with candida that occurs from time to time. My stomach is flat, I have better energy, better mood and NO anxiety. This has become the cornerstone of my treatment. It makes sense to me that if I can normalise my stress response to everyday situations it will allow my body to heal and to eventually resolve my copper storage issue. For the first time in a long time, I am very hopeful!
