Hi nyckid10,

I would first pick up the book 'The Safe Uses of Cortisol' by William Jefferies (he spent his life working with Cortisol).

Cortisol was the only thing that allowed me to gain some weight back, and I needed it for about 5-6 months, very low dose. I only used 10mg a day, eventually 5mg and then off. I've been off for a year now and still have a healthy weight.

I would recommend finding out what your cortisol curve is, so you can tell when to take it. For myself I only took it in the morning, as my cortisol was very low. Taking it at any other time of the day, would give me the opposite effect, leaving me tired.

I knew to come off as my temper and ability to sleep start to become difficult. I came off it slowly, took about a month on 5mg (after the 10mg) and I was fine.

Taking much more then 15-20mg may cause issues,. Personally I would see how 10mg does for you, though that is totally your choice.

Otherwise, taking something like Low-Dose Niacin (25mg - the flushing kind, though a low amount to avoid intense flushing) and Biotin should help to keep any fungal issues at bay while using the HC.

As others have mentioned, I would strongly look into Nutrition Balancing again, as I believe that it helps build up your bodies foundation and without that, you are in a position to further weaken it.
