You're right, septicemia is due to bacterias migrating from the gut to the blood stream, and it is directly linked with leaky gut. Also, septicemia can occur only if the liver is already compromised, as it is supposed to clean the blood of toxins and bacterias. Don't rely on medical tests for testing leaky gut, they're useless. Review the symptoms. Leagy gut I believe is present in all types of diseases, from diabetes to cancer to autoimmune disorders. Symptoms include skin problems, digestive issues, mental disorders, infections of all kind, fatigue, arthritis... The list goes on and on.
