Be careful about mixing up cause and effect. It's very easy to do. Hormonal imbalance and anxiety are effects of an overactive nervous system. Stress and trauma are the cause.
When solving a big problem like this, it's best to break everything down into parts and find the root. So if we can agree that a sympathetic nervous system caused by stress and trauma is the beginning point, then you can work up from there.
The next question is where does the stress and trauma come from? Through experience we realize that we are often experiencing symptoms even without external stressors. We can conclude from this that our overactive nervous system is the result of internal or PAST stress and trauma that is still affecting us.
This is the direction you want to go..
