Re Price of electrolysis Treatments normally in blocks of 10, 15, 20 mins etc. If only little hair 10 min session likely to do it.Treatments normally cost between £10-£30 per session though most people need regular treatments, depends on how fast your hair grows. Use a recommended technician, ie one who receves referrals from Dermatology Depts etc. as some so-called salons have poorly trained technicians who charge you for electrolysis but do little more than pluck the hairs. Yeah me too! I’ve paid a fortune for electrolysis.Grrrrr.... My Consultant said hormones either cause hair loss or hair growth it just depends on the individual. Sadly once the hair follicle is switched on you can’t just switch it off so it’s going to take a lot of sessions for me to keep my facial hair under control. Marvellous eh? I’m so self conscious about it and have avoided getting close to people when they talk to me. I experienced many of the symptoms you mentioned and the hand thing is a strange one i agree. Hi your experience sounds similar to mine. I couldn’t straighten up for the pain after insertion. Whilst i don’t want to be the bringer of bad news, as you never know your body might adjust to the IUD and you might then think it is the best thing since sliced bread, but for me the best thing i did was to get it removed. My symptoms were immediate and they did not settle as my GP had thought they would. I was told give it more time etc etc. After nearly 3 months my gp agreed i had given it long enough. He thought my body was rejecting the iud and thinks i’ve had a mini stroke because of it. ...

I too got the IUD for endo.I had a list of side effects like you. I had mine removed and whilst it takes a while to get rid of the hormone, i felt like a different person alsmost immediately. I always knew i could feel it, my GP told me it was ’related pain’ but as soon as i had it taken out the pain went away (other than the endopain of course but at least i know what that is)! It’s taking a lot of self control to get rid of the excess weight i gained and my skin isn’t the same yet but i look and feel LOADS better than when i had the IUD. GOOD LUCK. I haven’t had children and had it fitted age 31. Never stopped bleeding and was in serious pain since fitting. GP gave me 2 courses of hormone tablets and even they failed to stop the bleeding. I was told that they couldn’t increase the dosage as i was already receiving the highest.The iud didn’t help me one bit and my GP told me my body was rejecting it. I snapped at everyone, lost all get up and go, had no confidence or self interest and treated my boyfriend of almost 9 years like a dog! I already suffered from heavy periods and that was one of the reasons i got the IUD in the first place. After having it fitted, I used to have to sit on the toilet for ages whilst it just poured out of me....sorry it’s just too disgusting to write down! I say get it out.
