I love this site! LOL! I just came back from my ultra sound, and yes, the little suc*** is still firmly in place, regardless that the strings retracted. Also confirmed my uterus is in ”good shape” (sounds good to me) and no fibroids were seen. I will heed the advice here and make a list of my symptoms NOW so I can adjust the list accordingly as time passes. Good luck to me over the next few weeks. I will be sure to post my status!! 14 months?!!? Oh god. There might be more to come? My best friend also has Mirena, but she’s had 2 kids. She has no side effects what-so-ever, and she’s had it 6 months now. I suppose she’s one of the lucky ones...so far! I also reacted with GI disorders to The Pill. It took nearly 2 years of a gluten free diet to clear that up! I thought I’d let you know how the doctor appointment went. First, I should say my regular family doctor is NOT the one who put in the Mirena. My normal doctor sent me to the second one for the Mirena only. So today’s appointment was with my family doctor. She is wonderful. She listened to everything. She does not believe I could be pregnant either (but we did bloodwork to be sure), she does believe all this is because of Mirena. She said some people react well, some do not. I was told I didn’t need to have had a child first, it just makes the insertion easier because the cervix would have experienced ”opening”. The insertion was so painful...I can’t imagine what child birth would be like! I keep wanting the symptoms to subside...Mirena sounded like such a miracle birth control! I hope I have come to the right place... I was on Depo Provera shot for nearly 7 years. My last shot was in August, 2008 and I had Mirena inserted in October 2008 (it sounded so much better than the shot). The insertion was very painful, but I have never had children, so that may be why. I am 31 years old. I do not want children in the next 3 years...but maybe some day.
