I too had back and leg pain both before and after I began the candida diet last year and it turned out to be a build up of gases. As I understand it, rolled oats are avoided for those with a gluten intolerance because the oats are produced in the same places that wheat products are. In my opinion, one can get away with eating oats if one has a gluten intolerance. But, those with celiac, Gluten allergy, will not be able to get away with it, just a sniff of gluten makes them severely ill. Hi Jordan, thanks for posting the link which I followed up, only to be very disappointed to see that eggs are part of the initial diet. Many people with intolerances, including myself cannot eat eggs, or egg whites. Egg intolerances or allergies are not rare, they are quite common. As I understand it, and as what happened with regards to my 1st grains of kefir, it will take a few weeks for it to ’settle in’ . I would try rinsing it in cold water and starting again, I generally use a 1 to 4 proportions of grains to milk. The type of milk you use also makes an enormous difference. Among the ’allowed’ list is: Cauliflower, sprouts, all fruits, buckwheat, almonds, hazelnuts and pumpkin seeds, which is ridiculous! Sorry to hear things are becoming worse for you. To recap on what I said earlier though, it could be that you have become intolerant to other foods that you don’t realise yet. Its just a possibility to investigate because it appears, from what I have read, that once one develops intolerances to certain foods, others follow. I too used to get terrible shoulder pain. I am lucky because my partner would massage the rigid knotty muscles in my shoulders and upper back...the massage was very painful but it would work great for a couple of days. I finished the course about 10days ago, for me nothing happened aat all until the last week where I found that if I took the humaworm 1hr before eating rather than the 30mins as recommended, I would feel rather odd, but nothing like what you are experiencing. Humaworm is not a prescription drug. However I did go to the Drs a year ago thinking my problem was parasites contracted from either the soil, as I do alot of gardening without gloves or from my cat who gets them every year and often dribbles on me lol. I too am the opposite, I start off reasonably good in the mornings...compared to around 4pm when I start going downhill, ending up pretty awful by the evening. And like you I also put it down to having to eat something, despite being everso strict with what I do eat. Interesting, and well done you! I wonder if it is possible to make your own teas as I have sage in my garden and a freezer full of blackberries from my garden which I have avoided eating because I have been on ”The Diet” and they are fruit. Sage is also supposed to be good for the menopause/perimenopause ...which I am currently undergoing as well as trying to cope with Candida. I think I might just give it a go tomorrow. I too am perimenopausal, and the symptoms of that and candida are very difficult to seperate, I get bowel and mood problems with both of them! My Candida symptoms were: Severe palpitations, permanent diaorrhea for 5 months, caused by gluten intolerance, not being able to sleep because I was on the loo all night, every night, rock hard muscles in my shoulders and upper back, especially after a palpitation. Its just a thought I had the other day about having vaginal candida and using sanitary towels. I thought maybe it could be possible that whilst having candida of the vagina and using sanitary towels, the candida has an ideal opportunity to spread into and enter the anus. Hello all, I have been on the ’candida diet’ and doing all the supplements thing since the begining of Oct 09. Must admit that I (think) am getting better by the week. Gluten used to cause me really severe diarrhea. The other day, just to test, I ate a small piece of bread and again the following day and absolutely nothing happened! I am so pleased about this I just felt I wanted to share it with everyone as I follow this forum daily, so its nice to give something back, especially as I am certainly no expert on the subject of candida. Personally I take olive leaf extract, especially before bed as my bowels seem to go into mad activity as soon as I lie down at night. Taking Olive leaf extract calms my bowels right down so I get a good nights sleep. For me it works very well. I became Gluten intolerant which severely affected my bowels, I thought I was Celiac as avoiding gluten cured my bowel problems within 24 hours. Then after 5 days of gluten free-ness I ate some fruit cocktail and was worse than ever, thats when I realised I probably had Candida, as it often causes gluten intolerance. My Bowels make a terrible noise sometimes, especially when I have eaten something that does not agree with me. However, some days I eat the same things and nothing happens! 80% of the time my bowels are up to something, my lower intestines gurgle and move around alot. Last night I even had a (slight) shakey after taking 2 capsules of Candigest-plus and 3 capsules of Colostrum on an empty stomach before going to bed, the ’shakey’ occured before they even hit my stomach! lol I think soy could be the culprit actually as I changed to soy milk several motnhs ago and the day before my ’bad shakey’ I ate sprouted soy grains/beans..well cooked of course. Hello and thank you all for your kind support. I am already taking digestive enzymes, albiet with only my main meal of the day. Perhaps I will take them with every meal from now on. Today I have eaten without any problems, but I did have a BM this morning. I will definitely look into food allergies and experiment. The blood I had yesterday actually got a bit worse later on, it was in my knickers which has never happened before. Yesterday, also I did not have a BM. Thank you for your suggestion. Leaky gut, does that cause these type of symptoms? Hello all This is my first post having read the forum frequently.
