Hi, I wanted to share my story in the shortest way I can. I had the mirena for over a year. Miserable about 9 months after. I was having EXTREMELY heavy bleeding, rapid heart beats, nausea, hot flashes, and EXTREME fatigue. I even fell asleep in a toys-r us bathroom. I had been to the E.R. twice due to my heart, they said I was fine. I saw my primary multiple times and she said after a ton of tests I was fine. I couldnt feel my strings and I went to the doctor and he could not find them either. Today I went for an ultrasound and she didnt see anything. I still have to wait for my doctor to look over the results but its most likely mine fell out. I had my mirena for over a year and never felt the strings so I have no clue when it could have fallen out. I would just ask your doctor to be safe.   [End]

I too am at my wits end. I tried to take it out myself but couldnt find the strings and am also scared. I would change doctors immediately. You are in charge of your body not him. I remember asking the nurse practitioner specifically if thing causes cysts (i have had problems in the past) and she looked at me like I was crazy. She told me that she never heard that and if anything they protected against it! HA was she wrong. The mirena manufacturers themself say so. I know that the right thing to do is to wait. I was just so frustrated last night i wasnt thinking about anything but feeling better. I am a big wimp anyway so I cant believe I actually tried. I know we all have such insanse and annoying side affects, and I know about all of us having heart flutters. What about a rapid heart beat or a hard like pounding heart beat? Have any of you had this? Just curious! I amsure its all part of the panic attacks but its just a awful feeling. Now my doctor has chalked it up to anxiety and prescribed me lorazepam which i havent taken and dont really care to. How long after the mirena is taken out di you all feel better. Because my symptoms were so strange my doctor didnt know where to start and she said it could be my thyroid. Tested me 2 times and it was normal both times. I think its just a basic test they run. Good Luck   [End]

Hello, So I also have panic attacks and have been posting on here about my heart and other issues. I had to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours I was in the E.R. twice for this. Well I had my check up with my primary today and she said they are definetely panic attacks and that my heart is fine. Sha also said when I asked about the mirena being the cause that is was likely. Her words were every body is different and you could be the only one in the world to have one kind of symptom and nobody else would . you cant rule out hormones and foreign objects in your body. I am new here and like everyone else am so happy I found this site. I have had mirena for almost 2 yeasr now and have been miserable and never linked the 2. My biggest problem(and I have many) have been the irregular heart beats and flutters. I have been to the E.R. at one point thinking I was having a heart attack.
